Who are we?
We are An Ordinary Family of 5 from the Midlands with a need to explore the outdoors and uncover the hidden gems of the UK. We started walking and hiking around 3 years ago and started documenting our walks properly at the beginning of 2018. Most weekends are taken up with an adventure of some sort. We love what we do and would love to encourage more families to get outside too. So, I would love your comments about where you like to go with the kids, and welcome any recommendations.
Oliver is a sweet, bookish boy who loves to read anything and everything. He likes to take on a challenge and will always be the first to try something new. He loves history and is growing into a popular, chatty little man.
Finley is loving, inquisitive and very active. He loves to learn and his favourite question is Why? From the moment his eyes ping open in the morning, until the moment he sleeps at night, he is full of curiosity about the world. He also loves rocks. All of the rocks!
Molly is a true redhead. Fiery, stubborn and beautiful. She loves to help and has a very creative nature. You’ll catch her with glue and glitter at any given opportunity. As the youngest, and the only girl, she is obviously the bossiest and the ruler of the roost!
Dicky (is not his real name, and neither is Richard!) is the driver, photographer and man of the house. He works full time but is passionate about showing the kids the benefits of being outside and exploring the green pastures of the UK.
And lastly, is me. Zoe. I am the voice behind the pictures, and the blog. I love to write about our adventures, and hope to create some wonderful memoirs that the kids can look back on when they are older. They won’t remember the tablets they played on, or the toys they had. But they will remember the feeling of running wild around a mountain, or skimming stones in the sea. I hope to preserve these moods in the pages of this blog. They can look back on this virtual scrapbook of holidays and days out, adventures and achievements, hopefully with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts.
I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures as much as I enjoy writing about them.
Please, don’t hesitate to comment or get in touch about anything if you would like to.
